20 pitted, dried dates (Medjool, or otherwise; Costco sells a big container of them so if you decide to make these more than once or twice, it's a lot cheaper)
5 slices Applewood smoked bacon
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
Slice the 5 pieces of bacon in half, then slice those halves in half again lengthwise (so each piece of bacon is cut into 4 equal pieces). Sprinkle bacon with smoked paprika.
Pitted dates are already sliced so fill each date with a small piece of Fontina cheese (cheese should be cut into thin rectangle pieces that fit into the date - use your judgment).
Wrap each Fontina-stuffed date with the cut piece of bacon (smoked paprika side facing the date) and secure with a toothpick. Arrange on a medium baking sheet.
Bake at 425 degrees for about 15 minutes. Keep your eye on the bacon though as every oven is different. Once bacon looks fully cooked, remove from the oven and serve.
